Quantitative studies and surveys

A quantitative study measures phenomena using representative samples and statistical analysis, allowing results to be extrapolated to a population with a known margin of error.

Need representative, defensible data? We design surveys and quantitative studies of any scope, up to national scale.

What is it?

A quantitative study measures phenomena using representative samples and statistical analysis, allowing results to be extrapolated to a whole population with a known margin of error. It ranges from a customer survey to national studies.

What is it for?

It helps you quantify reliably: measure demand, satisfaction, attitudes or awareness, and obtain figures that hold up before a committee, a public body or an investor.

What it includes

  • Sample design and calculation of size and margin of error.
  • Validated questionnaires and multichannel fieldwork (phone, online, in person).
  • Statistical analysis (descriptive, inferential, segmentation, modelling).
  • Report with tables, charts and actionable conclusions.

Sample design and representativeness

The reliability of a quantitative study starts with the sample. We calculate the size needed based on the population, confidence level and desired margin of error, and design the selection (random, stratified or by quotas) so the sample faithfully represents the universe. We always document the technical sheet: universe, sample size, error and method, so anyone can assess the robustness of the figure.

Fieldwork channels

We choose the channel that best reaches your audience, often combining them to reduce bias.

  • CAWI: online survey, agile and cost-efficient.
  • CATI: phone survey, useful for certain profiles and territories.
  • CAPI: in-person survey, ideal when control or support material is needed.
  • Mixed-mode surveys combining channels to maximise representativeness.

Statistical analysis

Beyond percentages, we extract the value hidden in the data. We run descriptive and inferential analysis, audience segmentation, driver analysis and, where appropriate, statistical modelling. The aim is not to fill the report with tables but to distil the few conclusions that truly matter for your decision.

National-scale experience

We have designed and analysed national surveys for central government in partnership with public universities, including the study of public attitudes towards organ donation and transplantation. That level of demand —samples representative of the whole country and publication standards— is what we apply to every project, whatever its size. That same methodological guarantee applies whether the sample is three hundred people or several thousand, and whether the study is private or institutional.

Deliverables and technical sheet

Each quantitative study comes with its full technical sheet (universe, sample size, error, confidence level, method and fieldwork dates), a transparency requirement demanded by the media, public bodies and any rigorous committee. Alongside it we deliver the report with clear tables and charts, an executive summary with actionable conclusions and, if you need it, the cleaned microdata for your own analysis. All ready to present and to defend.

Types of quantitative studies

Many different studies fall under the quantitative umbrella, and we choose the right one for your objective.

  • Demand and market-sizing studies.
  • Customer (NPS, CSAT) and employee satisfaction studies.
  • Habits, uses and attitudes studies.
  • Quantitative measurement of brand awareness and image.
  • Opinion polls and tracking studies.

When to engage it

  • When you need representative, projectable data.
  • To measure satisfaction, demand or attitudes at scale.
  • In opinion studies and institutional surveys.
  • When you must back a decision with solid figures.

Which questions it answers

  • ? What share of the market prefers my option?
  • ? How much potential demand exists, and with what margin of error?
  • ? How satisfied are my customers?
  • ? What differences exist between segments?

Why ENET Consulting

Statistical rigour, fieldwork quality controls and clear reports for decision-makers.

Frequently asked questions

What sample size do I need?+

It depends on the population size, the margin of error and the confidence level. In the initial consultation we calculate the optimal sample for your goals and budget.

Do you run national surveys?+

Yes. We have run national surveys for public bodies and universities, with samples representative of the whole Spanish population.

What margin of error is reasonable?+

General studies usually work with a ±3% to ±5% margin and a 95% confidence level. We define the balance between precision, sample size and budget together in the initial consultation.

Can you integrate my own data?+

Yes. We can analyse databases you already have (CRM, observatories, records) and combine them with fieldwork to enrich the conclusions.

How long does a quantitative study take?+

A standard survey usually takes 3-6 weeks, depending on sample size and fieldwork channel. We can speed up the schedule for urgent needs.

Do you hand over the data as well as the report?+

Yes. If you need it, we provide the cleaned microdata and tables so your team can run additional analyses.
